Just when you thought you know your body, nature knocks up something unusual for you to discover. Here are some unusual facts about the human body.

* A person will die from lack of sleep sooner than they will from starvation, which usually takes a few weeks. This was verified after a Korean reportedly died playing computer games in an internet cafe for five straight days!
* The stomach produces new mucus every two weeks. If not, your stomach would digest itself. Stomach acid is strong enough to dissolve a nail.
* The heart creates enough pressure to squirt blood thirty feet. It takes sixty seconds for blood to make one complete circuit of the body. Depends on which kind of water, blood is thicker than freshwater but about the same thickness as seawater.
* A fetus acquires fingerprints at the age of three months. At about 12 weeks, the fetus can scowl and squint.
* A single human brain generates more electrical impulses in one day than all the telephones in the world. Your brain could power a ten-watt light bulb. Brain signals travel at a speed of 124 miles per hour. A quarter of the brain is used control the eyes.
* Of the five senses, the one that is the least sharp after eating too much is hearing.
* Someone who talks for a minute sprays about three hundred microscopic saliva droplets. This is about two and a half droplets per word. The average mouth produces 3.6 cups of saliva daily. Talk about drooling like a dog.
* Your bellybutton increases and decreases in size depending if you gain or lose weight.
* The length of the finger determines the speed of the growth of the fingernail. The nail on the middle finger grows the fastest with the nail on the thumb growing the slowest. Fingernails grow faster than toenails.
* Hair grows fastest in the morning.
* The most sensitive finger is the index finger.
* The knee is the most easily injured joint. You do not need to tell athletes this. Kneecaps do not appear until two to six years old.
* The length from the wrist to the elbow is the same as the length of the foot. Try it, I did.
* The left lung is smaller than the right lung to make room for the heart.
* If you take all the urine the world produces in a day, it would take twenty minutes to flow over Niagara Falls.
